Saturday the 12th of September, Casey thought that her water may have broken. Not in the traditional movie scene where her water splashed onto the floor in the supermarket, but the slow leak that is more sneaky about it. We decided after looking up a bunch of info that we would head into the hospital the next morning at 8AM.
Well, we never made it that far. Around 2 in the morning Casey's contractions started and by 3 we were timing them. At around 4:30 we were where we needed to be, so we headed over to pick up Theresa and head out. We were to the hospital and checked in by 5AM.
It was mainly Theresa and Luke in the room. She and I were the delivery duo and were put to work in the delivery room, holding legs, adjusting lights, holding monitors, and most importantly being there for Casey. Theresa was great about heading out sporadically and giving everyone the updates. This must have been a juicy one!
Throughout the day we had many people coming through and sending Casey and Charlee their love as Casey progressed through labor. At different points we had Theresa (Gramma), Ray (G.R.), Pattie (Grammie), Steve (Pop/PoppaHonk/Still TBD), Uncle Brady, Aunt Katie, Aunt Cindy, Uncle Chris, Jessica, Sarah, Caroline, Aunt Mary, Uncle Bill, Annie, Katie, Aunt Lisa and Uncle Dave. Here is a good picture of a lot of the people waiting in the hall as Casey pushed her little heart out.
(As my Gramps always says) "To make a long story short", the labor went really well. We had a nurse that we just loved, the epideural went smoothly, and Casey progressed nicely with the help of a little Ptocin. Casey did such a good job pushing that she had to wait for the doctor to get back into the room. Charlee Mae Priebe was born at 3:13 PM on 09/13/09, weighing 6 lbs 4 oz, 19" long, and alert and bright eyed.
Pretty much amazed... Also so impressed by Casey.
Cheers came from the hallway and after Charlee was all cleaned up and close to her Mom, people began to come in and say their hello's.

Also, we had a bunch more come through the next day, including (along with many of the people from before) Auntie Molly, Ashton, Colleen, Abe and Wanda Alfaro, Jan Mortimer, Joely, and Francie.
How cute is this picture of Francie and Charlee, only 8 months apart:
We ended up getting the boot from our luxurious birthing suite because there were so many births going on. Luckily though I think that we were chosen because things were going so well. Breast feeding was working. She was sleeping pretty well through the night, so we would have to wake her up every 3 hours to feed (although we are not expecting that to stay the same... hoping maybe, but not expecting).
We also got professional pictures taken when we were in there. Check them out here:
Password to get in is Priebe.
Enjoy!!!
Nice Job you two. The pictures look great.
