October 8th

So another week has passed and it is time for another update. My three weeks of "father bonding time" is already up, although I am lucky enough to have 15 more days that I can use over the next couple of months. So for the time being I am going to be working Monday-Wednesday-Friday. I figure that way I can be up with Charlee on nights on some of the nights she decides to be wide awake when I don't have work the next day and Casey will be up on work nights. That is the plan anyway! She actually took her first bottle today, so that may be a plus for how much I can help at night...

Charlee is awake and alert more and more every day. She now stares at things for a while, especially Mom. She has made trips to Target, Kohl's, downtown San Carlos, the park, G.R.'s office, and the grocery store. She is trying to hold her head up for longer periods of time and is making some fun noises. At night she has had mostly good nights where she sleeps for around 2.5-3.5 hours, feeds, gets changes, and falls back asleep within a couple minutes. Of course there are exceptions to that, generally around the falling back asleep part. Sometimes she just wakes up and decides she is going to check out the world for a while. At least when she has been awake it is because she is alert, explorative, and cheery.

OK, on to the pictures. We have had some more visitors and cute outfits. Here we go:

Here is Casey, Aunt Barb, and Charlee visiting. She also brought Charlee some cute PJs and bibs. It really is amazing how many bibs and burp-cloths that you end up using!

Grammie, Auntie Katie, Casey, and Charlee pose for a shot of the Priebe gals.

Katie checking her niece out.

Grammie and Poppa loving on Charlee.

Here is me checking out the way my Dad probably held me 27 years ago...

The following pictures are close-ups that either my Mom or my Dad took when they were here:

OK, cue funny story: So we have been talking about what my Dad is going to be called, and we have been leaning towards Poppa. We joked around that Charlee was going to get to know him as lens, but fortunately Casey thought of a perfect way to incorporate Poppa and the picture taking: Poppa Razzi! Here is Lady Gaga singing a song about him on last weeks SNL. It's got a chorus that gets stuck in your head, even if you only catch 2 words... haha.

Here is Charlee in her little hoodie. It looks like it has ears, which would actually be cute, but alas they are just my feet in the background.

Here is Gramma, Casey, Aunt Cindy, and Jan Sullivan in the nursery during their visit. Both brought Charlee some "cute fall sweater dresses" (quotes depicting Casey's description) for her to wear in these chilly winter months.

Steve was nice enough to bring Casey and I ravioli and spinach for dinner when he came to hang out with Charlee. I actually forgot to take his picture with him holding her, so here is a snapshot from the video hello that he did. Also, this picture signifies the last beer out of the first Hoegarden keg. Only last us three weeks with all the thirsty visitors (and thirsty non-visitors... e.g. me). We will have to get another one lined up soon!

A shot of Charlee's frog pose as Casey calls it. She loves getting comfy and napping like this.

Fashion shot... Casey loves dressing up her little girl!

I can still do the "nun-swaddle" that I learned from the Sequoia nurses... haha!

Charlee staring up at her Mom. Love this picture!

Another fun outfit from Aunt Karina. She looks so old here!

Charlee's first bottle! Hopefully I will be able to get Casey some more sleep at night as she gets used to them....

Well that is all I have for now. Thanks for checking out the pictures! Until next time, LC&C.
